Today is Saturday and I am writing this note overlooking a
fine bay on the island of Kauai.

It has been a few weeks since I have updated this blog. I had intended to not write while I was away
but the thoughts of my next treatment are trickling into my head as we approach
the end of our vacation. As a result I
thought of the good folks who take the time to look into my life from time to
time. That has brought me to provide an
update.
I have been over 3 weeks without any Chemo in my
system. I am feeling very good and
feeling very free from the taxing side effects of my treatments. The constant taste of Chemo has gone away and
my only physical side effects I feel are self inflicted. I find that Imodium is still part of my diet
but certainly less often that when under the effects of Chemo. I have even been able to enjoy beaching and
sunning without the concern of a ileostomy or the ugly scars that resulted
after my surgery. That alone is a nice
thought and makes those activities so much more enjoyable.
On Feb 21st I recommence my treatments at the QCH
and start a week of relaxation to let the chemicals do their work. I must admit that I am not looking forward to
this but it is the way it is right now.
I am scheduled for a CT Scan again in mid-March and I look forward to
hearing about the results and the next steps in this rather tedious process. I am hoping for some good news at that
meeting.
In summary, all is well in Hawaii and life resumes its normal
status again on Feb 18th back in Ottawa.
To all of you my best wishes for good health and happiness.
